Ghana’s Eazzy to judge singing contest
Ghanaian pop act Eazzy will continue judging candidates at the forthcoming seventh edition of talent-hunt show MTN Hitmaker.
“She has been a main judge for some time and we are maintaining her,” MTN's acting chief marketing officer, Noel Kojo Ganson, said. “She has so far been great, she knows her work and we are glad to have her back on.”
Eazzy has herself been on a reality show, appearing on Big Brother Africa in 2012. She has also appeared as a judge for the hip hop show Next Big Thing.
Also judging the aspiring entertainers are sound engineer Kaywa and arts writer Francis Doku.
“We had Kaywa as a beatmaker but how he went about his duties caught our eye and we made him a guest judge last year,” Ganson told local media. “And he did amazingly well so this year we are maintaining him as a main judge.
"Francis, on the other hand, used to be a guest judge on MTN Hitmaker but this time, we are making him one of our main judges. He has over time proven to be someone with an in-depth knowledge of the music industry, he does not mince words, he says is it as it is and that is what we are looking for, someone who will bring out the best in the contestants.”
Eazzy, whose real name is Mildred Ashong, said: “It is always a great pleasure to be part of something that will impact the music industry positively. Every season that I play the role of judge is an avenue for me to learn new things and I am looking forward to what this year will bring as well.”
“3rd season, 3years on the judging seat!" she posted on Twitter. "Do you have a favorite in the competition yet? Who are you voting? Who is your next hit maker star?”
