SoundThread

SoundThread is a non-profit organisation with a focus on emerging music markets.

For a number of years, the company has provided avenues for newer talents and communities to harness their creativity. To do this, the company facilitates exchange programs and encourages cultural business innovation as it seeks paths to employment. Much of what SoundThread achieves is the result of local partnerships, as the organisation builds on networks already available within a particular culture space. In recent times the company has worked in the sub-Saharan culture scene.

Typically, SoundThread works first with a North-South relationship. Thereafter, this pattern is converted to as “South-South operation within the first few years of operation. To ensure this is a successful transition they partner with cultural institutions, local business and NGO’s which enable them to effectively develop and implement creative industry projects to directly benefit local grassroots economies.”

The project was founded in 2012, and run by Sam Jones who is based in the United Kingdom.
