Linda Pendukeni Simasiku

Linda Pendukeni Simasiku is an Afro-pop musician from Namibia who began to sing at the age of 14. She had her debut performance with the now defunct Gal Level at their CD launch in 2009. She is well-known for her debut song ‘I Believe’, which was released in 2012 and featured Peterson, a musician from Zambia. She released her debut 19-track album, ‘Golden and Cool Entrance’, that year. The album is a fusion of RnB and Afro-pop genres. That year, at the age of 16, she won three NAMA awards - in the categories Best Newcomer, Best Collaboration and Song of The Year.

In November 2013, she performed in the USA at the 3rd Annual African Cultural Festival that took place in Roseville, California from 19 to 25 October. The event was designed to provide communities with a platform to get together for the preservation and celebration of diverse African cultures. It was also meant to educate and bring about positive change.

Besides music, Linda conducts campaigns aimed at helping school pupils. In November 2012, she launched a campaign called ‘Help a Child, Pay School Fees’. She used some the money that she won at the NAMAS to pay school fees for underprivileged children in 13 schools countrywide - one child from each of the 13 regions.
