Rob Prophet

Born Robert Kanoonya to the late Ben Kanoonya and Sylivia Kanoonya in Gombe Wakiso District. Started his music carrier at the age of 5 reading , writing and playing instruments, at the Roman catholic mission boarding School in Kamuli District, developed the carrier in Kampala working with Bands like Afrirena Jazz band, Bantu’s Band, Elly Wamala, Diamonds Production, Sky Waves, Outspan Brass Band etc this was achieved between 1996 to early 2000.

By Early 2000 his elder brother had refused him to proceed with the Music Carrier with a reason that there is no successful musician without a professional Job hence giving him the Elly Wamala example who was a professional accountant and doing music during his free time. Between late 2000 to 2003, he was involved in the IT colleges learning IT Engineering advanced Diploma abroad. Between 2004 today been working in Companies in South Africa and Botswana as an IT managing Director for 16 companies including my International Company Matrix Modifiers (Pty) Ltd.

In late 2007 he managed to Penetrate Into Gallo Record Company where he met Professor Reggae Richard Siluma, the former Lucky Dube Producer who appreciated his knowledge about Roots Reggae Music hence took him into tough training because his mentors were Lucky Dube, Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, which genre Professor Reggae Richard Siluma is very good at. He recorded 20 tracks for his international album.

He has internationally performed in Malawi Blantyre, Lilongwe, South Africa, Johannesburg and Cape Town and Namibia, with his electrifying Black Reggae Prophets Band produced by Professor Reggae Richard Siluma. They are planning to Jet in Uganda massively with Professor Reggae Richard Siluma’s Band (The Undreaded Rastas) and my Band the prophets, very soon to show the Ugandan People that they are Icons in Roots Reggae Music, their managers are still digging the foundation for our massive performances here in the pearl of Africa.
