Listen to Beyoncé song she made with SA producer Lebo M
Beyoncé has released 'Spirit’, the song she made with South African producer Lebo M and German composer Hans Zimmer.
'Spirit' is off The Lion King: The Gift album, which was produced and curated by Beyoncé. It features Elton John and Pharell Williams, among others.
"Each song was written to reflect the film's storytelling that gives the listener a chance to imagine their own imagery, while listening to a new contemporary interpretation," Beyoncé said.
"It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers. Authenticity and heart were important to me."
Lebo M is known for arranging and performing music for the first The Lion King animated feature, as well as the theatre productions that followed. His voice is the first voice heard in the beginning of the orignial film and has become synonymous with the film's image in popular culture.
The reboot of The Lion King will be released in the US on 19 July.
