Music In Africa Foundation elects new board and chairperson
The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) elected a new board at its recently held 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kigali, Rwanda, on 16 November.
The AGM, which took place on the sidelines of the 2024 Music In Africa Conference for Collaborations, Exchange and Showcases (ACCES), saw MIAF members vote to elect a new board as per the Foundation's Constitution.
The members on the board, representing the music scenes from different regions, are new chairperson Marcus Gora (Zimbabwe), deputy chairperson Julz Ossom (Ghana/Canada), treasurer William Chirinda (South Africa), Kobina Ankomah Graham (Ghana), Marie-Kimberly Tesha Oxide (Mauritius), Eddie Hatitye (South Africa), Tabu Osusa (Kenya), Caroline Christgau (South Africa) and Joachim Gerstmeier (Germany). Christgau and Gerstmeier serve on the board on behalf of the MIAF’s founding partners Goethe-Institut and Siemens Stiftung respectively.
MIAF office bearers are as follows:
- Chairperson – Marcus Gora

- Treasurer – William Chirinda
- Board member – Tabu Osusa
- Board member – Kobby Ankomah Graham
- Board member – Marie-Kimberly Tesha Oxide
- Board member – Eddie Hatitye

I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing chairperson, Maimouna Dembélé (Senegal), and board members Aziza Ongala (Tanzania), Matilde Moucha (Mozambique), and Jens Cording (Germany) for their invaluable contributions to the Foundation during their tenure.”
