Kananji

Kananji is a well-known rapper from Malawi. His music has earned him respect in the country's entertainment industry. He is regarded as one of the talented hip-hop artists in the country.

He ventured into the hip-hop scene ten years back. Back then, he featured on many songs such as ‘Moto Wa Yaka’ (the fire has started) (2005). The song was a compilation done by the country's top rappers and producers. He has also worked with musicians such as Dominant 1 and Third Eye's. In 2008, he released his debut single ‘The Memo’. The song featured on Taiwan's premier music blog, ‘WaaKao’.

In 2009, he performed at the "Spring Scream" festival in Taiwan. In 2012, he released his debut album titled ‘Fool's Gold’. It was produced by Dominant 1. This was followed by the ‘Chocolate Mixtape’ (2012) album. His 2012 album was a collection of sonic treats featuring artists such as J Dilla, Exile, Dominant 1 and many others.
