Bio
Mvelani is Malawi’s first music streaming platform which allows people access to listen to music by artists from Sub-Saharan Africa. It was founded on 23 January 2015 by UK based entrepreneur called Dumisani Kapanga. Mvelani is a Chichewa word meaning ‘Listen’. Besides listen to music, the site provides artists with exposure.
The site aims to create a platform for Sub-Saharan African songs to be available through desktop and mobile devices. To date, the website has over 2000 tracks from over 150 artists.
