Sobantwana rising from the valley of a thousand hills in a little town of Tsolo in the former Transkei.
Her music is a fusion of eclectic soul, jazz & with her strong traditional African harmonies you can easily understand where her strong voice comes from. Isingqi sakwantu is what she commonly refers to in her music. With influences like Miriam Makeba, Busi Mhlongo, Madosini & Brenda Fassie to name but a few ones can easily put her in the same bracket as the legends.

Having previously released her first EP ‘Birth’ under Native Rhythms Records she has become a dominant force to be reckoned with. Having collaborated with South African house music heavyweights like Blanka Mazimela & Ryan Murgatroyd she further showcases her musical prowess.

Sobantwana describes her music as a voice to those who want to be heard, where she tackles the daily struggles of humanity through her soul-piercing lyrics. Currently working on a debut album titled ‘Mahlungulu’. Looking to take the story of Amampondomise to the world. With her energetic stage presence and her ability to turn heads, she is a true performer to note. With her strong sense of cultural rooting and high intellect of Pan-Africanist ideologies, it's easy to understand her plea. My love for humanity and passion for helping where I can drive me to keep going and I would not want any other life than this one.
