Ami Yerewolo Danioko
Bio
"I am a Denfari" as Ami Yerewolo likes to say. Denfari in Bambara is "the child who is not afraid of challenges". An outstanding Malian artist that has been able to combine rap for women in a scene and a country not very inclined to gender parity. Originally from the Mahina district in the Kayes region, Ami Yerewolo moved to Bamako after completing her baccalaureate. She began studying finance while immersing herself in the hip hop world. In order to impose herself in this world of men, she challenges them with a lot of freestyles.
After releasing two albums (Naissance in 2014 and Mon Combat in 2018) and a participation on the latest Amazones d’Afrique recording, Ami Yerewolo was one of the African revelations of the Show-me springboard in January 2020. She is currently working on an EP on Blick Bassy's brand new label, Othantiq 3A, and is preparing to conquer the French and European stages by the end of 2020. The Paléo Festival of Nyon in Switzerland felt the emergence and the importance of this new African voice since it invited her for a preview in July. Ami Yerewolo is an ambassador for women, a spokeswoman for the challenges of her country and her peers. She already has the stature of a very great lady.
