In 2022, Aww Solly Sk, a talented artist from Bushbuckridge, embarked on an exciting new venture with his longtime friends, Shaun Morupane and Excellent Nyalungu. The trio, who had been dancing together for nearly four years, decided to start a record label and create a new genre of music called "Umboqo."

This genre is a unique blend of Afro pop, Electronic, Gqom, and Hip-hop, showcasing their creativity and talent. The idea for Umboqo originated from a mixtape project the friends had been working on, and it was Shaun Morupane, also known as Shaun Bujwa, who gained fame first in 2020. Shaun proposed the idea of forming a crew, which was later joined by Excellent, known as Danger King, and Solly, known as Aww Solly Sk or Mchoconator.

Solly Sk's love for music and dance started at a young age. Growing up, he was fascinated by music videos and often imitated the moves of his favorite artists. As he got older, his passion for music and dance only grew stronger, leading him to explore his own talents. In 2010, Solly Sk began developing his spiritual dancing skills, dedicating himself to daily practice in his bedroom. For three years, he honed his craft, and by 2013, he was ready to showcase his talents publicly.

The overwhelming response from his classmates encouraged him to keep performing, and soon, he added singing and rapping to his repertoire. As his skills continued to evolve, his ability to produce music also became widely recognized, and he quickly gained a reputation as a talented and versatile artist.
