Bio
Aziz Ozouss, an esteemed Moroccan artist born in Biougra in the province of Chtouka Ait Baha.
An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer, he possesses a profound connection to his cultural heritage.
Aziz grew up immersed in the rich traditions of authentic Amazigh music, surrounded by the harmonious sounds of Ajmak, Rwaiss, Ahiyad, Houara, Isemgan, and other traditional melodies from the Mass Deraa region. In 2005, he began his musical journey, mastering a range of Moroccan classical instruments, including the violin and guitar.
However, his artistic journey was deeply influenced by the Rwaiss and Isemgan art, especially the mesmerizing rhythms of the Ribab. This passion drove him to dedicate himself to mastering the Ribab in 2008. With this solid foundation, he further expanded his expertise by learning other traditional instruments like the "Lutar" and "Talutara Isemgan," enhancing his musical skills.
A turning point in Aziz's journey came in 2012 when he enrolled at the Agadir music conservatory, specializing in violin. His rigorous training and dedication to his craft paved the way for his involvement in local music bands and his dynamic participation in numerous events, including shows and festivals. In 2016, Aziz's artistic vision culminated in the release of his debut album, "AMZWARO."
This five-song collection, the result of years of experience, masterfully blended Amazigh cultural themes with an innovative fusion of local traditional instruments and global music genres, including Reggae, Blues, Jazz, and more.
