Bab L' Bluz

Bab L' Bluz (literally "The door of the Blues") is a Franco-Moroccan group created at the end of 2018 in Marrakech, Morocco. It is a psychedelic Moroccan rock group inspired by the Gnawa tradition, combining rock, contemporary music and popular Moroccan music.

History of the Group:

At the beginning of 2017 in Marrakech, the Moroccan singer-guitarist Yousra Mansour met the French guitarist and producer Brice Bottin who has been working with Moroccan musicians for several years. Both passionate about Gnawa music, they decided to learn together the guembri. Mid 2017, they compose together what will be the 1st album of Bab L' Bluz, a new repertoire of 10 powerful and current music titles, while respecting the analogical universe of the 60's & 70's. They want to mix their influences tastefully, and do not want to be labeled as a world band, but as a Moroccan psychedelic rock band.

At the end of 2018, they are joined by long time friends and musicians from Lyon Jérôme Bartholomé on qraqeb/ flute/ vocals, and Hafid Zouaoui on drums / back vocals, where they will do their first live concert on Radio Nova. In 2019, they will play in Switzerland, Germany, Morocco, France and will record their first Cd a few months after their creation, which will be the first album of the band "Nayda! it will be released in summer 2020, on Real World Records.
