Chikaya D
Bio
Chikaya D (born Chikaya Buruya) is a singer, songwriter and performer from Tanzania.
She plays the guitar and is also music arranger. Chikaya D has a Diploma in Performing Arts and has performed with different bands like Tongwa Ensemble and Afrikabisa.
Chikaya D traveled to German where she worked as a singer,dancer and actress at a theatre company called Dat Letzte Kleonod.
In 2015, she met lyricist and CEO of a UK-based record label called Sustainable Records. In April 2017, Chikaya D performed at Mini Karibu Music Festival followed by another performance at Alliance Francaise in Dar es Salaam in May.
In 2020, she announced the release of her upcoming album called 'Sing For You'.
