Bio
Dennis Mthokozisi Madonsela better known to most by his stage name Dee Doubz
(which came after he changed from D-double-E due to online complications) is an
astonishing hip hop artist born and bred in a small town called Standerton in
Mpumalanga. He is well described by his followers as one of the most promising
upcoming artists South Africa is yet to discover.
With a musical history dating back to 2013 when he was still in college (Newcastle KZN), Dee Doubz and his friend formed a duo called Dee&Gee and released their first single titled
“6948slash21'' a song that made them both recognised as legit artists but that became the
first and last song they ever made together. Dee Doubz then moved back to Mpumalanga
and pursued a solo career, he worked with Cash Motsatsi a local producer that's when he
recorded a number of songs that went viral including “Correctional Service, Bossing Up,
Mpumalanga and Pakisha” from that moment it was clear that the boy means business
and is here to stay.
In 2014 he was the talk of the town, getting local radio interviews and shows in
Mpumalanga. He later met Kwaitoprince and together they formed a duo that took the
whole town by storm due to the level of quality music they released digitally.
In September 2015 Dee Doubz released a song titled “Somahhashi” produced by CODE,
this song quickly became a people's favourite and shortly after releasing the song, it's
music video followed shot by a Johannesburg based media company Blacknation Media.
Dee Doubz's brand grew to a point where he even opened stages for SA's well known
artists namely “Ma-E from Teargas, DJ Vigilante, Alaska and Saudi”, thanks to this song .
March 2016 Dee Doubz introduced clothing merchandise with his stage name as the logo
and its been in high demand ever since. Later that year he released an Eight-Track EP
titled “Somahashi' as a token of appreciation to his steadily growing fan-base for the
support they show him daily. He just recently released a single titled “Jimmy Two Times”
produced by Vegitta a KZN producer who works with a group called Ground zero, the
song has been published on local digital sites and it is short listed in a number of radio
stations. His hustle , patience and consistency will play a major role in this amazing come-up and prove that Dee Doubz is a real force to be reckoned with, like he always says... “SYABA BELIEVISA!”.
