Lily Kadima
Bio
Lily Kadima (born Lillian Nazziwa Birungi) is a traditional Afro-fusion/pop singer from Uganda.
Kadima is a multi-gifted artist with strong raspy supple vocals and an emphatic stage performer. Her music is influenced by different music styles, giving it a distinctive fusion and a refined brand of a traditional afro fusionist.
She has graced festivals stages inspiring society and young people to engage increative arts, embrace grassroots through different music styles. Her career began in 2012 when she joined the Fusion Band. This was followed by the release of 'Akuloga' in 2013. The song was locally nominated four times in the Song of the Year category at The HiPipo Awards.
In 2016, she officially unveiled her solo career at Uganda National Cultural Centre. That year in May, she performed at the DOADOA East African Performing Arts Market.
In 2017, Kadima performed at Bayimba International Festival of the Arts, where she shared the stage with Makadem, Maurice Kirya, Bobi Wine, Cindy Ssanyu and Jose Chameleon among other African.
In April 2018 Lily Kadima released a 13 track album titled "Ighe olinaki" meaning what do you have lliterally questioning our commitment to appreciating our heritage and God given gifts.
Kadima held a live show titled "ighe olinaki " jungle experience with her band on 4th august 2018 at jinja sailing club , an art piece exhibited to attract ecotourism in Busoga kingdom where she interacted with her fans which was a success.
Lily Kadima organized another season of ighe olinaki with a theme " Nabirye inthe city " on 18th October 2019 at the Uganda national culture centre inspiring the young people to engage in creative arts and embrace grassroots, she performed her music which renditions were off ighe olinaki album and some singles off the fourth coming album yet to be released.
In September 20th 2020, she streamed an online show titled "songversation acoustic session" which was a success amidst covid and political challenges in her country.
Kadima released singles, lock down inspirations titled 'osiimanga" all about gratitude amidst life challenges. " I want to sing, entertain and give more always "
