Natalie Rungan
Bio
Natalie Rungan is a KwaZulu Natal-based, powerhouse vocalist, who needs little introduction to local audiences. Having built a reputation for almost two decades as a professional singer, arranger, writer and producer, Natalie now has five albums under her belt and never stops reinventing herself. She is always pushing the boundaries in an attempt to create new sounds and ideas, all the while looking for opportunities to build and invest in the next generation through music education.
The sultry, industrious singer has worked on both national and international platforms with some of the countries best artists including PJ Powers, Zahara, Danny K, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Sibongile Kumalo and Ernie Smith. Natalie has also performed with the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra on numerous occasions, including performances with Loyiso Bala, Toya Delazy and Melanie Lowe and Ard Matthews. One of the greatest highlights of 2013 was Natalie being invited to sing at the official memorial service for our nations father, Nelson Mandela in Soweto in December. It was truly a humbling honour, one that will never be forgotten.
Taking you on a musical journey, from jazz to funk, smooth jazz, rock and pop, Natalie's concerts are unforgettable. This singer songwriter has written, produced and arranged and self funded her last three, 'Heart Aflame', 'Grace is shouting out' and 'One Heart'. Natalie has just completed her sixth album, 'Caught in the Middle' which features Neil Gonsalves (keyboards), Bruce Baker (drums) and Talent Mbatha (bass). This live album recording has 8 brand new songs, which were written, arranged and produced by Natalie.
