Punchline Manyofonyofo (real name Mojalefa Mokubung) is a rapper and songwriter from Vereeniging, South Africa. His music fuses township stories and language using a rich Sesotho vocabulary. His songs echo the need for education, poverty alleviation and an urgent call for unity among South Africans. His songs, which range from thoughtful to poetic, show that he is well-versed in the Sesotho vocabulary and culture.
His unique delivery and song writing abilities were first noticed when he released a debut album in 2007 with a band called Ntjapedi. The album was nominated in the Best Newcomer category at the 2008 Metro FM awards. He left the band the same year of the nomination citing creative differences and started performing as a praise poet at private and corporate functions in and round Gauteng.
He went solo and began recording his debut album titled 'Green Bottles & Politics'.
