Bio

Ras B a.k.a. “DaKapitalLetter” is a South African Hip Hop and Dancehall Artist with over 20 years worth of experience in creative writing and performances including music and poetry. His original name is Boitumelo Tebogo Eduador Tladie and was born in South Africa in the Free State region, Winburg. He grew up for most parts of his life in Bulfontein and attended Repholositswe Secondary Senior School at which he was a well known performing poet for at various school and social events, yet now living in Bloemfontein since the beginning of varsity years in 2009.
The Artist is also a humanitarian by heart and completed his degree in Human and Societal Dynamics and recently just scooped himself an academic certificate in Music Business at Boston City Campus and Business College under the new Soul Candi Digital Campaign. The artist has took numerous steps to incorporate and integrate both his academic profession in Human Development Interventions with his long term acquired experience in the arts field. Ras B has worked on various studio albums as an independent artist including “The Passage” in 2012, “The Journey” in 2014, “Pleasurouz Pain” in 2017 and “T.I.M.E.” EP which was released last year (2021) on all digital stores.
Not to mention many studio features he made with various artists in the local scene. The Artist is loved and appreciated for popular video tracks such as “Darkest Days” featuring Osiiiris and IAmLimit, “Hope” which has been an inspiration in the local scene since its release, “Let Go” which also went viral within few months of release, “Pon Mi Mind” featuring Mars, “Lockdown Freestyles” since the emerge of Covid-19, “S.S.S.” including other performance video of the artist at various events. Ras B is now working on his 5th official Dancehall album titled “T.D.o.A” (The Dawn of Azania) which has an indigenous yet urban taste of sounds which will include 15-17 tracks, also featuring various local artists and hopefully “Jnr S.A.” as he was facilitating and mentoring the young artist during the Music Business course at Boston College.

HIGHLIGHTS
Along his music journey, the Artist has shared and opened stage for some of South African Icons such as Mafikizolo, Pres from “101”, Mr Mo Molemi as well as recently Bongo Riot’s Music Fest Tour, the former member of “Gang of Instrumentals”. Ras B has a very unique style of sound and has been receiving positive feedback from old to new fans, his music speaks to everything that touches on life yet mostly motivational content as motivation to rise above social irregularities.
In matric, Ras B was also nominated as one of Free State Top 20 Poets in 2008 in the Poetic Justice Initiative Project ran by the likes of Lebu Mashile against hate speech, xenophobia and racism.
