Sonia Noor
Bio
Sonia Noor is a Moroccan artist, singer, songwriter, and she has been living and breathing music since her early childhood. Sonia is a self taught artist and her musical universe is a pure reflection of her own cultural identity. If you take the gnawa groove, and mix it with oriental melodies, and you spice it up with deep soul and pop influences, you get what Sonia Noor is made of.
In january 2016, she participates to the french singing contest “La Nouvelle Star” and ranks amongst the 16 semi-finalists, from an initial pool of 10.000 candidates.
Back in Morocco, she completed her artistic training at the Casablanca Music Institute, and participated in several festivals such as the Jazzablanca Festival in 2018 and the Visa For Music Festival in November 2020. On the occasion of the festival of the National School of Circus Shems'y in 2018, she participates in the artistic creation "AMAKYN" directed by Fatym Layachi, who entrusts her with the lead role of singing and acting.
Music is a language that is conjugated in the plural, that's why Sonia Noor collaborates with several artists such as Asmaa Hamzaoui, the rising star of Moroccan gnawa. Her latest featuring, "Mra ou Mermora", with the famous DJ Mr. ID - who makes the Moroccan musical heritage shine across the globe - is a tribute to all the women in our lives.
Since September 2017, Sonia Noor has been promoting her musical universe with Maroc Live Entertainment Group , which she shares with her audience during concerts and festivals. In 2021, she signed with Universal Music MENA, and released her track Bhor Lbalia in june 2021, followed by her latest song "Mes Yeux", available on all streaming platforms and social networks.
