Sylvester Aklamavo

SYLVESTER AKLAMAVO is of both Nigeria and Republic Of Benin Background. He left the University of Ibadan as a Geology Sophomore to pursuit a Career in Music. He studied under Music Professors and further equipped himself with other private guitar tutors, guitar instructional Books and Videos. He also acquired some affiliated online certificates in Jazz improvisation and music business from Berklee College of music.

He worked professionally in all styles of Music in His career; from Juju and Fuji music, High-life, Maskandi, Reggae, Gospel, Funk, Jazz and Rock. He also shared the stage and performed with great artists like: Bob James, Salif keita, Femi kuti, Alvin Slaughter, Israel Houghton, Abraham Laboriel, Harvey Mason, King Sunny Ade, Lionel Loueke, Sadao Watanabe, Gerald Albright and Jimmy
Dludlu to name a few.

He is a Recording Artist, Producer, Author, Blogger, Private Guitar Tutor and the Band leader of The Band “SYLVESTER AKLAMAVO’S MITON BAND” Aklamavo’s band has performed at Yfm’s
Live and ReYired and also at STANDARD BANK JOY OF JAZZ 2017 on the Development Stage. They were also one of the winners for the DISCOVER S03 COMPETITION and the band was the 1st runner up of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival 2018 and 2019 ESPAFRIKA’s Young legends online competition.

Currently. He launched his first guitar book titled “THE FRETBOARDIST" Complete Mastery of The Guitar Fretboard ″ He is also busy marketing his music and performing locally around South Africa- with hopes to start touring the world with his band soon.
