Bio
Tramay is a maloya-fusion band from Reunion Island.
Tramay is a soft acoustic maloya mixed with a creative fusion: a Creole Indian groove, with tinges of African or Brazilian swings and other very spicy rhythms.
How the band was born?
The band was born from an Indian-Reunion cooperation project with Reunionese and Indian artists. It ended up in original creations in which Reunion Island and India are very much present. In spite of not being properly a jazz band, the music of Tramay is very much similar in complexity especially in rhythms because it is very much influenced by the percussionists who created the pieces and their crave for carnatic (South Indian classical) music.
