Bio
Zimkitha Kumbaca is a otherwise known as Zimkitha is a
SINGER | SONGWRITER | ACTOR | THEATREMAKER
Zimkitha is originally from the Eastern Cape, South Africa and she recently joined Discovrme's artist division for independent artists.
Her career however did not begin there, Zimkitha started her musical journey through writing poetry, listening to some of the most prolific singers, learning her favourite R&B songs down and overtime learning to write her own songs.
She then developed her singing and performance through talent shows, choir competitions and eventually became the lead singer/songwriter of an afro fusion band, "Travellin' Blak"
She would follow up all that development by completing her Diploma and Btech in Drama and Film studies at the Tshwane University of Technology and continued to pursue her music journey as a solo artist while embarking on her acting career. The Naledi Theatre Award nominee has played the lead role in the award winning, "Matatiele" TV series, starred in the series, Mzali Wam season 1 and 2 and recently earned the lead role of Qhama on Makoti season 2. She went on to be the lead singer and actor for the Award winning Musical titled, "Freedom"
Her music credits include various tracks on the internationally acclaimed South African feature film "Matwetwe", Additional Music Team for TV show, "Gomora" and was a music director and music composer for play "Trapped" which showcased in Austria.
Her most notable performance was at the first annual Basadi In Music Awards accompanied by Ladies in Jazz band and has also headlined at the Black Labone live music show.
