Zouratié Koné is a master percussionist, descendant of a family of Griots of the Bwaba ethnie, between Mali and Burkina Faso.
Singer, musician and maker of traditional musical instruments, he is recognized as a Master on the djembe, the dumdum, the tama (talking drum), the longa, the kora, the ngoni and the balafon.
Educated in an oral culture, this outstanding musician knows hundreds of different rhythms and musical traditions coming from the Mandingo area of the West Africa, as well as a wide range of songs.
In 2019, together with Pietro Nicosia, an Italian musician and producer, he started a musical project mixing electronic and Mandingo music, the Electro Mandingo Groove. In July 2020 their first song Sogni was released by the label Orianna / Sony Music.
Since 2017 he has been leading his musical project of Afro Jazz Mandingo, the ZKE! Zouratié Koné Ensemble.
Since 2017 he is artistic co-director, together with Ombretta Moschella, of the non-profit organisation Amu Les Griots based in Belgium, for the promotion of the Arts and the geographical and human cultural heritage of West Africa and the meeting of cultures, with an associated cultural center in Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso.
Since 2013 he has been teaching at the AKDT summer academy “West African rhythms and instruments”, and “Afro Jazz Mandingue”
Since 2013 he has been part of Afrikan Protokol, a Belgian Afro-jazz sextet and he plays regularly with Tutu Pouane and Sébastien Haciane.
He played with renowned musicians like Salif Keita, Baaba Maal, Cheick Tidiane Seck, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Oumou Sangare.
in 2010, in Burkina Faso, he created his musical group of talking drums percussions, Ala ka nj.

Zouratié Koné, chanteur, musicien et fabriquant d’instruments de musique, est née à Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso et a vécu au Mali et en Côte d’Ivoire.
Maître percussionniste issu d’une famille de Griots et éduqué dans une culture orale, ce musicien hors pair s’est approprié de multiples instruments de la tradition ouest-africaine (djembé, dundun, talking drum, longa, kora, ngoni, balafon) et connaît des centaines de rythmes et traditions musicales différents provenant de la région mandingue de l'Afrique de l'Ouest, ainsi qu'un large éventail de chansons.
En 2019, il démarre un projet musical qui allie musique électronique et musique Mandingue, l'Electro Mandingo Groove, avec le musicien et producteur italien Pietro Nicosia. En juillet 2020, leur première chanson Sogni a été publiée par l’étiquette discographique Orianna / Sony Music.
En 2017 il crée son propre groupe musical de Afro Jazz Mandingue, ZKE! Zouratié Koné Ensemble.
Depuis 2017 il est co-directeur artistique, avec Ombretta Moschella, de l’organisation à but non lucratif Amu Les Griots. L’organisation est basée en Belgique et agit pour la promotion des Arts et du patrimoine culturel géographique et humain des pays d’Afrique de l’ouest et la rencontre de cultures. Elle a un centre culturel associé à Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso.
