Pearl Afrika is a singer, songwriter and performing artist from South Africa. She is a two-time SAMA nominee for SAMA 18, Best Female Artist of the year & Best Adult contemporary categories for her debut album called 'Ikhwezi'.Pearl Afrika born Nomhle Nongogo, is a highly acclaimed South African singer, songwriter, and
performer. With two South African Music Awards (SAMA) nominations under her belt, Pearl's
journey in the music industry has been marked by a passion for soulful expression and a
commitment to addressing societal issues through her art. Born in Aliwal North and raised in
Gqeberha, Pearl Afrika discovered her love for music at the age of 12. Early experiences in local
music and church gospel groups paved the way for her musical journey.
 In 2001, Pearl moved to Johannesburg to pursue a career in music, joining the gospel music
group, Oracles.
 She became a prominent member of the renowned Joyous Celebration for three years,
showcasing her vocal prowess on a global stage.
