Call for applications: Digital Lab Africa
Digital Lab Africa (DLA) is calling on African creatives working in the digital arts to submit projects under the Digital Music category.
The call is open to artists, producers, designers, start-ups and students in the media and creative industries in sub-Saharan region.
Those interested can apply here. The submission deadline is 25 February 2018.
DLA will support projects that are:
- At the initial stage of development.
- In need of partners and financial support.
- Innovative in terms of narration, content or technologies.
Successful applicants will get the following:
- A 3 000EUR cash prize and a tailored-made incubation programme.
- Mentorship sessions by leading music industry players from France and the sub-Saharan Africa.
- Residence time within the digital cluster/hub in France.
- Participation at international music industry events.
The Digital Music category is any project that offers an innovative online music user experience that includes services, solutions and multimedia content. The project must be for web platforms and mobile applications.
Examples of such platforms include creation of an application proposing a multimedia universe and an interactive community around an artist, an application offering live concerts on mobile, a platform for exchanging music content, a service to view a 360° concert, a music video clip using virtual reality technologies, and an artist booking service, among others.
DLA’s objective is to provide a springboard for creatives to jump-start and accelerate their projects with the support and expertise of leading French and sub-Saharan African companies, such as studios, producers, broadcasters, distributors and industry experts.
