Amajobe
Bio
Growing up with the struggle of every boy in Africa and rising out of the music scene in South Africa, South Africa-born artists Sazile ‘Shongah’ (born in Pretoria on the 3 November 1995), Siyethemba ‘Njini’ (born in KwaZulu-Natal on the 2 December 2002) and their late brother Senzokuhle ‘Sxeblane’ Sithole (born in Pretoria on the 25 April 1994), known together as Amajobe, are singers, songwriters, and producers based in Atteridgeville.
The group's captivating, high-energy performances transport audiences back in time. Amajobe blends musicianship, creativity and tradition. Their main genre is country music (maskandi) with an infusion of jazz and gospel. They're inspired by stories, sounds and experiences in life, often touching on their own struggles in everyday life. They often talk of subjects difficult to speak about, bringing socially conscious lyricism to their powerful emotive tracks – from sad songs to revolutionary ones.
Amajobe started their career back in 2014 with the release of debut album "Asambeni". Popular songs on the album include "Asambeni" and "Uyindlela", which have been successful hits in South Africa until now, receiving airplay on national radio stations. The duo has performed on TV and been featured in major South African newspapers.
These days they're getting back in touch with their roots and spirituality. They are busy preparing to record their new album for 2024. They are also popularly known as Amazayizayi of which is the name they got last year from Izinqwele zika Maskandi in celebrity’s soccer tournament as they were the key players for Maskandi fc (team led by Khuzani) playing against Hip hop fc (Team led by Big Zulu) and Shongah scored the winning goal that won them a tournament and he was assisted by his own very late brother Senzokuhle “Sxeb’lane” Sithole. And this year again they almost made things happen but with Njini their young brother but unfortunately were knocked down by gospel fc (team led by Dumil Mkokstad) in penalties in the finals.
