Born as Gosiame Maodi and raised in Ga-Rankuwa, Pretoria, South Africa, DJ BlackJean has emerged as a trailblazer in the global House Music scene. His passion for music and sound engineering led him to refine his craft at C.O.P.A Edenvale, followed by advanced studies in Digital Sound Engineering at Damelin College, establishing a solid foundation for his thriving career.

As the founder of Jeans Records, an independent record label, DJ BlackJean is devoted to producing and promoting soulful, authentic House Music. His collaborative spirit is a cornerstone of his work, as he actively partners with other artists and provides guidance in recording new creations and albums, helping shape the soundtracks of tomorrow. His own production expertise shines in acclaimed tracks like Capricorn and Tapta Beach by the renowned 60 Hertz Project, which have been released on prestigious labels such as GOGO Music, DeepTone Recordings, and Deeper Shades Of House.

In 2024, DJ BlackJean solidified his status as a powerhouse in the industry by winning the DJ Turntables Titans Competition at Soweto's iconic Disoufeng Pub and Restaurant. This victory not only highlighted his incredible talent but also secured him a residency at the legendary venue, further amplifying his impact on the House Music community.
