Gosiame Maodi, known to the world as DJ BlackJean, is a trailblazer in the House Music scene, bringing the vibrant rhythms of Ga-Rankuwa, Pretoria, South Africa, to the global stage. His passion for music ignited in the early 2000s, when he honed his skills at C.O.P.A Edenvale and furthered his expertise in Digital Sound Engineering at Damelin College.

BlackJean’s talent transcends mere DJing; he's a musical architect creating deep, immersive soundscapes that resonate with listeners far and wide. At the helm of "Jeans Records" in his hometown, he not only crafts his own tracks but also nurtures emerging artists, fostering a thriving music community.

As the visionary behind the live band 60 Hertz Project, BlackJean has produced acclaimed EPs like “Capricorn” and "Tapta Beach," cementing his reputation as a versatile producer. His music, released on esteemed labels such as GOGO Music, DeepTone Recordings, and Deeper Shades Of House, includes standout hits like “Meant For Me” and "Fallen."

BlackJean’s recent triumph in the DJ Turntables Titans Competition Season 1 highlights his prowess and dedication to his craft. He has also secured a DJ residency at the renowned Disoufeng Pub and Restaurant in Soweto, where his electrifying sets have become a staple of the local nightlife scene.

His music is a rich tapestry woven from his cultural roots, life experiences, and collaborative spirit, blending traditional South African rhythms with contemporary house beats.
