Farai Machingambi (Farai Matake)

Farai Machingambi (Farai Matake) is a self taught musician who answered his call for music when he was gifted an Mbira by a Spirit Medium(Svikiro) relative at Masononga, a mountain in the Great Zimbabwe area around 1997, the Mbira holds a sentimental and significant value that has guided his musical path.
He combines the hypnotic Mbira, Marimba and guitar in his music, creating African symphonies that celebrate African music heritage. His styles consists of Afro-beat and world music. He has shared the stage with some of South Africa’s greatest musicians namely, Nduduzo Makhathini, Mbuso Khoza, Indwe, Azah, Vusi Mahlasela, Nono Nkoane and many more.
