Guchi (E TWO) Jombo
Bio
Guchi Trymore Jombo is a Zimbabwean artist and professional sound engineer. He has been performing arts since 1994.
He is a self-taught Mbira player and band member of Bongo Love. They have toured around the world performing in different venues and festivals, such as Madison Square Garden, TD Gardens, Chicago House of Blues, the ACP festival, Ashkenazi and the New Orleans French Quarters.
In March 2006 they won the national prize of the Music Crossroads Festival in Zimbabwe and were selected to participate in the Interregional Festival of Music Crossroads that took place in Maputo, Mozambique where they won the Ethno Music Prize. As a result, they were invited to perform in Sweden and the Dominican Republic, leading to their first major tour of the United States in 2007. Jombo has previously worked with Dumi Ngulube.
