HipHop Asili Band

Asili Band is a hip hop group that skilfully mixes traditional Chigogo instruments with modern ones. The group is composed of ten diverse talented members including six passionate rappers, each representing a different Tanzanian region with Ellisha James from Arusha, Fivara from Mwanza, Stan Rhymes from Dodoma, Nala Mzalendo from Mbeya, Slim The Kid from Zanzibar, and Rasta Michael from Dar es Salaam. They came together during the HipHop Asili Festival 2023 through an artistic residency, forming a strong bond that fuels their music.
