Kay11thletta

Kay11thletta real name Karabo Mokoena is a rapper and songwriter from the Free state. Kay11thletta was influenced by 90’s music particularly Hip Hop, Kwaito, Jazz, House and traditional South African music. Artists such as Prokid, HHP, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Tkzee, DJ Fresh, Bongo Muffin, Hugh Masikela, Ricahrd Bona and many more shaped his musical style.

In 2010 he co-founded a band called Blaqseed with his friend Gabriel Chauke a guitarist from Soweto. Blaqseed saw success by performing alongside The soil, Samthing soweto, Last days fam, The muffins and others. The band went as far as The Cape town fringe festival and the Grahamstown National Arts festival, performing live music from 2010 to 2016. In 2015 Blaqseed received a recognition award from the Grahamstown National Arts festival.

In 2017 Kay11thletta decided to pursue a solo career to expand his musical knowledge and skill.
He has performed in the Vereeniging south of Johannesburg and in Maboneng in Johannesburg as a solo artist and released mixtapes online. Currently he is working on new music with various artists and producers.
