Kheziya

Kheziya Mthombeni , born and raised in Pretoria  , Soshanguve in Gauteng discovered her passion for music at the tender age of 11. Growing up in a musical family she began as a soprano singer in her primary school choir where her love for music kept growing. 

In 2019 , with the guidance of Nothando Mkhwanazi who introduced her to jazz music as her voice tutor where she also discovered her love for the cello under the guidance of Tebogo Ngalo both at the Unisa Music Foundation where she then delved into the world of classical and jazz music.

Joining the Unisa Jazz Combo conducted by Thapelo Khumisi and the Unisa Youth Orchestra conducted by Tsholofelo Sithole , Kheziya honed her skills and developed a deep appreciation for jazz music. In 2022 she auditioned for Idols SA and made it as far as theatre week which opened doors for her. She had the opportunity to be on South Africas well known telenovela "Skeem Saam" as well as a Showmax Original "Youngins" in 2024.

Kheziya is a Idols SA Golden Ticket winner and the 20th Unisa Youth Music Festival Grand Price Winner.  She achieved all this below the age of 18. Her dedication to her craft and passion for music continues to driver her forward in her musical journey.
