Lilian & The Sundowners is a band comprising songstress Lilian Mbabazi and four prodigious band members that always bring along a unique and spiced up experience in their performances.
Lilian Mbabazi is a Uganda-based soul and R&B artist whose rise to fame came after she emerged as the winner of the 2004 Coca-Cola Popstars contest, placing her in the famous girl group Blu*3. A few years later, Lilian has focused on her solo career gaining ground as one of Uganda’s best-known female artists based on her rich, soulful and powerful vocals.
Lilian boasts a catalogue of hit songs and two albums that have transcended the borders of Africa. Some of her hit songs include 'Vitamin', 'Danger', 'Dagala', 'Kuma Obudde', 'Yegwe Wekka', 'Memories', 'Ontereza', 'Simple Girl', 'Kankutwale', 'Batulinde' and 'Ndabivuze'.
Her musical style is described as a cross between soul andR&B tinged with African and Western musical influences.
Lilian & the Sundowners have showcased at performances such as Lilian's own Up Close & Personal Concert in 2015, Coke Studio Africa (Season 1 and 2), Blankets & Wine (Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda), The Mutzig Beer Festival (Rwanda), The MTN@20 Expo, Ubumuntu Arts Festival (Rwanda), Fezah - Lilian Unplugged, Obunuzi and several other stages.
Lilian has also collaborated with some of East Africa's top artists including Navio, Radio & Weasel, AY, P-Unit, Kitoko, The Mith, Keko, Cindy, Ekky and DJ Global.
