Mounir Kabbaj
Bio
Originally from Morocco, Mounir Kabbaj grew up in Casablanca, in a family passionate about art and culture.
At the age of 15, he started playing bass guitar and founded several rock-metal bands in Casablanca. In 2004, Kabbaj moved to France where he studied cultural project management. He then joined the Accord Croisés record label and production company as a communications manager and Au Fil des Voix festival as a project manager.
In 2014 , now with a vast experience in artist management and event production, he co-founded in Paris the Ginger Sounds events production and consultancy company specialising in world music with a focus on new Arab and African scenes.
Kabbaj is also world music selecta under the nickname Le Mood du Mahmood. He has mixed at several major events and venues such as Timitar, Visa For Music, Les Suds à Arles, L’institut des cultures d’Islam (Institute of Islamic cultures) and l’Institut du Monde Arabe (Arab World Institute), among others.
