Bio
An arts and cultural programmer, passionate about empowerment of the arts through supporting sustainable practices in nurturing development in artists and cultural organizations, focused in the regions of eastern and southern Africa.
Her 15-years in arts administration includes working with teams in various arts organizations, exploring creative methods of knowledge transfer for the distribution of critical content in the continent and through consultancy, research and training bring artists and communities together.
With the Pan Africanism philosophy as one of her core values, she provides project management and curatorial expertise, connecting grassroots arts programs and creating cultural experiences that cross the borders - collaborating on the design and productions of festivals, exchange programs and residencies to activate progressive artistic movements.
Nyambura’s vision is to bring together like minded creatives, to develop projects which support incubation and acceleration of the creative economies in the context of growing African societies through our cultural heritage. Through her experiences, a Swahili proverb describes her overall aspiration, "Umoja ni nguvu, utengano ni udhaifu".
