OB Magik, born Mnqobi Ngcobo, is a multi-genre artist and self-taught music producer from Durban, steadily gaining recognition in the entertainment industry. Inspired early on by hip-hop legends like Tupac, Eminem, and Dr. Dre, he creates music that reflects his life experiences and unique perspective. Known for both his production and rapping, OB Magik has been a "Best Producer" nominee at the Durban Creative Awards and has collaborated on various Durban-based projects. Recently nominated for the SAUMA Awards for Best Hip Hop Song and Best Male Artist, he has made significant achievements, including hosting the annual Magik Xperience event, performing at the KZN Kwande Fest, having his music synced in Netflix’s Blood & Water Season 4, and getting his single "Shelela" playlisted on Channel O and multiple radio stations. His other accolades include being a top 8 MC at the Back to the City festival's 10k battle challenge, winning "Man of the Match" in the Rap iFact competition, and facilitating workshops and panels at the Music Imbizo. OB Magik’s journey is marked by an impressive list of accomplishments, solidifying his rising status in hip-hop.
