Sounds and Words

Sounds and Words is a creative project and artistic movement in Cape Town, South Africa.

The project/band seeks to creatively bring together painting, the literary aesthetics rich in poetry/spoken word, with the musical affect, rich in Afro-beat, jazz, folk, reggae, funk, high life and classical music.

The project's poetic and musical materials are historically, academically, and socially informed, hence these subjects coupled with diverse musical and cultural background, further nurtures, critic, and shape the delivery of our art performances

Sounds and Words is also a collective of creatives that seeks to redefine creative spaces and help curate a very conscious and intimate atmosphere, a culturally inclusive space, an artistic and spiritual ambiance which facilitates a deeper and higher level of communion with the audience. The art speaks to audiences that cuts across different spectrum of class and race within the society.
