Bio
Born Onome Onokohwomo, Yung6ix is a Nigerian rapper. He was born in 1989 in Delta, a state in the South-south region of Nigeria. The eldest of five siblings, he was a member of a hip hop band called G-Squad. The young rapper participated in battles and the band performed at small events within the state.
He moved to Osun state where he enrolled at a private university. Nicknamed 6ixty, the name he’ll come to be known as was derived from this nickname. Soon after he relocated to Lagos, and got signed by 411 Entertainment Company. Yung6ix later recorded a version of rapper Ice Prince’s Oleku, garnering online attention.
In 2011, Yung6ix worked with Wizkid on a single and released the ‘Green Light Green’ project. And in 2014, he released his debut album ‘6ix o Clock’. Containing 16 tracks, ‘6 o Clock’ features prominent rappers MI and Phyno as well as singers Wizkid and Yemi Alade.
He has been nominated for the Lyricist on the Roll award at the Headies.
