Zukiswa Gwabeni

Zukiswa Gwabeni is an admitted attorney with a two-year post-admission experience. She attended the University of Pretoria where she completed a Bachelor of Law (LLB) and her interest for Copyright in the entertainment space blossomed in her final year, wherein she wrote a dissertation with the topic, The imbalance between the Rights to Privacy and Access to Information that Leads to the Commercial Exploitation of Celebrities.

To pursue her passion for copyright, she joined Composers, Authors and Publishers Association’s (CAPASSO) legal department in South Africa. Her role has enabled her to be part of an organisation that believes in their members being remunerated for their musical works, as well as educating artists about music rights and the overall importance of reading and understanding any agreement before one signs.
