Biography
Pazzos Bi, whose real name is Pascal Bimenyimana, was born in Ruzo in the province of Muyinga, in northern Burundi. There is where he developed his music career, with rehearsals he did in the choir and rehearsal of Musical instruments like piano and guitar.
In his musical compositions, he is inspired by social life. It puts forward the themes of peace, justice, love, forgiveness, reconciliation, freedom and many other human values, in order to give the necessarily constructive atmosphere in society, always building a better world. It is inspired by the style of Reggae, Gospel and Classical music. He currently lives in Ciudad de México, Mexico.
Education and Training
Pascal Bimenyimana did his primary studies in Ruzo, secondary studies at the Petit Séminaire de Muyinga where he developed his musical talent, and university studies in Bujumbura. In the secondary school, he made his musical compositions and animated the young people in parties cultural. He created a group God's Boys, the young talented in music. After university, he lived in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, learning mostly guitar playing, Rumba style.
Artistic Trajectory
He sings mainly in Kirundi, French and Spanish, but also occasionally in English or Swahili. The lyrics of his songs express a strong attitude and humor related to peace. He studied Spanish at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México UNAM), in the Teaching Center for Foreigners (Centro de Enseñanza para Extranjeros CEPE-UNAM). The pseudonym comes from afar, in the preparatory school, where it was called "Paz", a word in Spanish that simply means "peace" instead of Pascal, and then ended by saying "Pazzos". The other part of his new name "Bi" was created by himself, putting the first letters of his name "Bimenyimana" (which means "it is God who knows")
His youth went normally, he listened to bands like Lion Story, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Otis Redding. But it is when he hears for the first time the great Alpha Blondy that his mentality changes and that he decides to turn to reggae and to make songs for peace and reconciliation. Alpha Blondy's heir, as he is known and called in the industry, sings in different languages and languages such as French, Spanish, English, Swahili, Lingala and Kirundi (his native language). In 2013 and after 8 years, he released his new album entitled "Inner peace". This album has 7 great songs. Pazzos BiI is recognized worldwide for his career as one of the current great representatives of reggae. Mexico and various parts of Africa are perhaps the regions in which Pascal has the greatest number of followers.
