Colbert

Colbert (born Ndivhuwo Colbert Mabasa) is singer-songwriter from South Africa. He fell in love with music at the Tender age of 11, through the harmonious feel of music that was rendered at his church, He then took it to himself to learn what he could about music, and through that process he discovered His talent in singing.
Allowing time to grow and perfect his skill and has since taken singing and song writing as his professional career.

Over the years he has met and worked with well-known and up & coming artists. The experience of having to release his music to the world gave him motivation to keep improving his writing and singing skill, He may well be an R&B motivated vocalist but never limits himself from any musical experience across all genres.

His musical life quiet during his primary school years (Mvelaphanda primary School) and high school years (Ikusasa Comprehensive School) but it was soon enhanced when he met a Soulful house producer Derrick Flair during his first year at the University of Johannesburg. And from there on forward his journey to being a established artist, a musical powerhouse to sharing stages with multiple mainstream artists, to working with the Legendary Stimela, getting features on newspapers and interviews on Radio & TV began.

Amongs a massive of amount of features and a fairly entablished music catalog, Colbert had the opportunity to work with Internationally renowned Portuguese DJ/Producer John Andrews, soon the singles “From here with love” and “One dance” were released from the collaboration and they Dominated the charts in portugal during the years 2015 & 2016,all produced John and written/perfomed by Colbert. He and his Friend Derrick Flair established an independent Record Label "Alfanote Records" and soon had a Digital distribution deal with UK based Label "Cygnus music", Colbert now became fully independent
His Major Singles “Ride (produced by Siz), She Cries (produced by V2), Shut it down feat Kay Kay (produced by Siz)” were released during the years 2017 and 2018 ,all followed by a lot of promo, Performances, Radio Tours. Colbert was now getting recognition in the right places.

Colbert was privileged enough to work with the Legendary South African group Stimela, and was soon exposed more to the dynamics of the music industry as an aspiring music entrepreneur, though the valuable advice of bra Jabu, a member of the group Stimela.

Before the year 2018 ended, he found himself in studio with Renowned DJ, Producer, Actor and entrepreneur Miza (Itumeleng Modibedi) and the Hit single “LOVE RIGHT” was released and took over the soulful house scene by storm with Remixes from of Chymamusique, George Lesley, Sculpured Music, Jazzuella, Reagan Ruler, King Detoy & Spin worx. The single Received airplay from major Radio stations with the official music video reaching number 1 on MTV Base, both artists embarked on a national Performance, radio & TV tour that lasted four months.
