Call for applications: Music workshop for women in Uganda
The Bayimba Foundation in partnership with the East African Creative Music Campus, is calling on aspiring female musicians and music teachers in Uganda to apply for a training workshop at the Bayimba Academy in Kampala.
The Bayimba Foundation will hold the training in 2020 and 2021 and the curriculum has been designed by the Global Music Academy in Berlin, Germany. It will focus on providing professional training to young aspiring musicians and music teachers.
“We specifically designed the system using the European Credit Transfer system as the structural basis using modules, module descriptions, credit points and learning outcomes so that the music schools and academies we work with can develop their own curriculum and fit this into their own accreditation systems,” Bayimba Academy said.
“This core curriculum deals with core musical skills that are important for any musician who wants to work internationally. It provides the basis for the musicians to analyse and understand their own music.”
The workshop outline will include:
- Body percussion.
- Rhythmic reading and writing.
- Melodic reading.
