Miish3 Band

Miishɛ Band is a 12-member Ghanaian musical ensemble founded in 2019. The word "MIISHƐ" means, happiness in the Ga language. They blend West African jùjù and vodou traditional music with Western jazz and big-band sounds. Their unusual instrumentation- trumpet, trombone, saxophone, tuba, along with West African instruments like atentɛben(Ghanaian traditional bamboo flute), xylophone/gyil, kpanlogo drums, gome drum, kologo, etc.

Miishɛ band promotes the originality of the music of Ghana, combining an original mixture of jazz and Ghanaian traditional music. The result is definitely both modern and traditional, as it mixes jazz and traditional African music. They take traditional music and invigorate them with jazz harmonies. The fusion reveals as much as possible of the musical tradition, while giving a Western tone, to link the past and the future.
The band's uniqueness and dynamic tunes along with their captivating live performances is aimed at making their audiences happy as the name of the band connotes in the Ga local dilect. Miishɛ band's soul satisfying tunes move and pull the heart of it's audience, which led to positive feedbacks from it's audience.
