Upendo Manase

Upendo Manase is a traditional African female soloist who specialises in songwriting and singing. Manase was born in 1995 and raised in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

As a result of her talent being discovered early in her growth stages, she was fortunate to receive professional training in Tanzania and Ethiopia. As well as singing, Upendo is an actress, concert organiser, music teacher, and entrepreneur.

● 2014 - 2016 Upendo Manase was awarded a certificate to graduate from music training at the Music May Day College - Tanzania.
● 2017 -2018 Upendo Manase was awarded a certificate for vocal and music teacher training at the Global Music Academy - Ethiopia.
● Upendo Manase also participated in various workshops in and out of Tanzania including workshops on music business, musicianship, vocal training, sound engineering and workshops on how to teach singing.
● 2017 - so far Upendo Manase worked as a vocational teacher at Action music school and MAK music centre all from Dar es salaam. In addition to teaching in schools, she also conducts free workshops for people with special needs as part of her contribution to society.
● Upendo Manase performed various music / theatre performances in collaboration with various artists, institutions and projects in different countries including, TANZANIA, KENYA, UGANDA, ETHIOPIA, BELGIUM, GERMANY, DENMARK AND FINLAND.
● 2021 Upendo Manase successfully recorded her first album titled WAKE UP, which was produced and coordinated by WEKA MUSIC LAB from TANZANIA and DENMARK.
● 2021 Upendo Manase successfully launched her first album titled Wake Up at the slow leopard, Masaki. This launch has given her a new audience, a new beginning, and a new strength.
● 2O21 – Upendo Manase performed at MARAFIKI MUSIC FESTIVAL.
● 2022 – Upendo Manase performed at SAUTI ZA BUSARA FESTIVAL.
