Moipet Quartet perform at a major NBA game
Kenya’s Moipei sisters yesterday showcased their talent at the opening of a major NBA game. The three sisters, Marta, Mary and Magdalene form the all-sibling group, the Moipei Quartet together with their younger sister, Seraphine, who was absent at yesterday’s performance.
According to The Star newspaper, the three sisters, who are students at the St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, mesmerized the audience with their rendition of the American anthem before a game pitting the San Antonio Spurs against the Clippers.
It was a dream come true for the sisters, who had publicized it on their Facebook page. “On Sunday, one of our biggest dreams will come true. We will be singing the American anthem for the san Antonio Spurs vs. LA Clippers4th playoff game,” they posted.
The multi-talented sisters perform a wide array of musical styles including classical, opera, African, gospel and pop. They have won numerous awards, including a Head of State Commendation (HSC). They are managed by their parents, who are also musicians.
