Burglars break into Bongo Flava star Ali Kiba's house
Armed burglars broke into Tanzanian Bongo Flava singer Ali Kiba’s house in Kunduchi, Dar es Salaam on the morning of Sunday 3 May and made away with household goods of unknown value. According to The Standard Newspaper, the burglar broke down the main door and attacked and wounded Ali Kiba’s siblings. Ali Kiba’s younger brother, Abdu Kiba, who was at home at the time of the burglary, said there were more than 15 burglars, and that they were armed with crude weapons, including knives and machetes.
The thugs had earlier beat up and tortured the gate guard, asking him to lead them to Ali Kiba’s room. Fortunately, the singer was not in his room but was in another room within the house. The robbers made away with Tsh 2 million (US$ 1001) together with other household goods.
In a message posted on Instagram, Ali Kiba said: ‘Twamshukuru mungu, tupo salama.’ (We thank God we are safe).
