Call for applications: 2021 George Town Festival in Malaysia
The organisers of George Town Festival (GTF) are accepting applications for the event to be held in Penang, Malaysia, in 2021.
The festival was launched in 2010 in honour of George Town city, which was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008. It provides a platform for local and international artists to showcase their works, and is also committed to promoting the beauty of arts, culture and heritage in the region.
“In 2021, GTF hopes to curate a hybrid festival with reduced audience capacity for physical programmes alongside online streams in presenting a myriad of art forms,” the festival said.
“We are interested in hearing from artists who are creating online works or whose performances are manageable in spaces where physical distancing is achievable. The work can be one which has been touring around or an entirely new show that has not yet been showcased to the public.”
