Nigeria: Watch DJ Cuppy's Litty Lit
The track is taken off her debut album Original Copy, which was released in August on London-based artist services company Platoon. It arrives a month after the visuals for ‘Karma’ featuring Ghana’s Stonebwoy were released.
The colourful video for ‘Litty Lit’ sees Cuppy and Teni substitute their office jobs for the thrill of Oleku, an old-school Nigerian party, where they lead revellers in a high-energy performance.
Comprising 12 songs, Original Copy boasts features from Ghana’s Efya, Nigeria’s Rema, Seyi Shay, YCee and Fireboy DML. Other featured artists on the album are Ms Banks (UK), Darkoo (UK), Wyclef Jean (US) and Jamaica’s Julian Marley.
Commenting on the album at release, DJ Cuppy said: “Original Copy is about being fearless. When I first started making music, a lot of people felt like it was outside my realm. They felt I was being a bit of a rebel without a cause.
“Following my heart, I became a creative due to my passion, which has now become my profession. Now I’m putting out an album I’m so proud of! I hope that everyone that listens to Original Copy is inspired by my journey to trust their guts and be the best version of themselves.”
Born Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, DJ Cuppy is also a producer and Apple Music radio host. Additionally, she is behind the mixtapes House of Cuppy (2014) and House of Cuppy II (2015).
